Simon Porte Jacquemus: A talent with great projection in fashion
Winner of the prestigious LVMH prize in 2015, since then his fame has grown without control. This 29-year-old designer, raised in the French Provence, began dressing his friends (and his mother: since the first dress was made for her with house curtains) and through street happenings he became popular. With 19 years he created his own brand with which he developed a French style based on Breton stripes, but with a surreal touch. He believes that fashion is poetry. But that is also a business. So, he sums up that "he sells poetry" and, as a son of the digital era, he is supported by his more than 400,000 followers on Instagram.
The presence of Jacquemus at the Paris Fashion Week
The Paris Fashion Week kicked off with all eyes on the Jacquemus Fashion show. As usual, Simon Porte Jacquemus presented his collection for the autumn-winter 2019/20 in a scenario that recreated a town inspired by the French Provence, his place of birth. A walkway that was filled with flowers, colourful facades and balconies with hanging clothes that did not leave indifferent.
In 'La Collectionneuse', the French designer showed tremendously feminine garments in which vibrant colours were the main protagonists. A line with summer air that followed the trends of the 'colour block', the combination of two or more striking colours, and 'total looks' in warm tones to wear on a day-to-day basis.
The star of the accessories, Le Saq Chiquito
If his garments are spectacular and dazzling, in his shows, all eyes are always directed to the accessories. The designer once again showed his taste for maxi and mini accessories. The French left his guests speechless with 'Le Saq Chiquito', a bag that Jacqemus presented expressly to send the invitation to the show and that barely fit in the palm of the hand and that could be seen on the catwalk.
